Technology
- Linear accelerator treatment, including external beam radiation treatment, intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image guided radiation therapy (IGRT) and stereotactic radio surgery (SRS)
- Computed tomography (CT) simulation scanning
- PET/CT (positive emission tomography) scanning - a form of nuclear medicine imaging.

Facility statistics
- Two-story
- 39,600 square feet
- Two linear accelerator rooms characterized by natural daylight
- One PET/CT room
- One CT simulation room – for simulating treatment before treatment is begun
- Eight private infusion bays – for patients who prefer privacy
- Four “buddy” infusion bays – for patients who prefer the company of others
- Parking spaces – 160
- Approximately 5,000 square feet will be shelled space for future needs
Facility features natural theme
- Trees will be planted in several areas inside the facility.
- Thirty percent of the façade will be glass to allow exposure to nature and daylight.
- Skylight and large window provide exposure to nature, daylight and sunlight.
- Sea grass will be laminated into interior glass walls.
- Two-story feature wall fireplace will grace the radiation therapy waiting area
- All interior finishes and materials are eco-friendly.
- Natural colors and materials will be used for décor.
- Four interior themes will be Radiation Oncology – “Zen Garden”, Chemotherapy Infusion – “Beach”, Medical Oncology – “Neighborhood” and public spaces – “Woodlands.”
- Corridor of light extends through both floors, with skylights at each end.
- Skylight will be above entrance to linear accelerator treatment area.
- Exterior landscaping will feature shrubs, trees, etc. indigenous to the region.
AtlantiCare is incorporating “green” features
- AtlantiCare is building the facility with a goal of achieving the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification.
- Solar orientation –will allow the long side of building to face south to shade from sun, while the short side doesn’t admit harsh morning or late afternoon sun.
- Roofing will be reflective Sure-White EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Terpolymer) roofing
- Natural lighting will include automatic light-monitoring system.
- High performance cooling system will operate as needed, adjusting capacity control from 10 to 100 percent.
- Reactionary pumping system will react to water needs, using only the required horsepower.
- Air flow will also react to the needs of the building
- Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS) –will provide multi-layered exterior walls to minimize heat loss through the building and reduce both heating and cooling costs.
