Monday, June 6th at “Current Tides and Future Waves in Nursing Practice”.
National experts on the impact of health care reform on the practice of nursing, Al Rundio, PhD, RN, APRN, CARN-AP, NEA-BC and Virginia (Ginny) Wilson, PhD (c), MSN, RN, NE,
NEA-BC, will discuss and share why now is the time for nursing to seize a vast majority of health care in our nation and how this piece of legislation may just support such
innovation.
Clinical topics presented by interdisciplinary colleagues on:

- women’s health
- pharmacology
- the first new anticoagulants in over 50 years
Caring for the patient with substance abuse is very challenging. Dr. Rundio, President Elect International Nurses Society on Addictions, returns in the afternoon to provide us
with information regarding the major classifications of substances, including
- club drugs
- the clinical and social effects of abusing such substances, and
- recommended current treatment and prevention strategies
The final presentation of the day from Catherine Harris, MSN, MBA, PhD (c), APN, Nurse Practitioner for Jefferson Neurosurgery at AtlantiCare will provide updates on the
advances in the endovascular treatment of stroke.
