CHARITY CARE

AtlantiCare provides healthcare services to everyone regardless of their ability to pay.

We are proud to be a “safety net” hospital, providing more than $30 million in charity care each year.

AtlantiCare currently employees nearly 5,000 full and part-time individuals, making us the largest non-casino employer in southeastern New Jersey. This employment provides $259 million in salary and benefits to our employees. Total AtlantiCare base expenditures are $452 million. As this amount “ripples” through the economy it creates approximately $1.1 billion in total economic value to the New Jersey economy.*

This “ripple effect” is generated in three ways: AtlantiCare's purchase of goods and services, AtlantiCare's income to employees, and by the wages and salaries paid by AtlantiCare which are subject to federal, state and local taxes.
