Our 7th and 8th grade science teacher and students have worked with us to prepare the soil and plan the garden. Most of the students were willing to get their hands dirty. They helped the younger students to plant clean and plant.
The weather has not been cooperating! The seedlings and plugs were healthy and ready for planting, but the weather really is not! Our spring garden did not flourish. There are some plants growing but some died out.
The students are optimistic and are excited for the summer and fall garden. The teachers and students attending summer school have volunteered to care for the garden. The Boy Scouts of America in Atlantic City have agreed to help our students care for the summer garden. We are dedicated to the garden! The weather must participate!
