How to Prepare for Your Procedure

  • Doctor and Patient Bring all your paperwork.
This includes your insurance card, your prescription, your referral or preauthorization form if necessary, and a photo ID.
  • Bring all your films to date.
Our radiologist needs to see how the film from this exam compares with your previous exams. This allows us to identify any subtle changes as well as eliminate the need for redundant or unnecessary exams.
  • Dress comfortably.
It’s best to dress comfortably, as in sweat pants, t-shirts, etc. You must be metal-free — no buckles, metal rivets, underwire bras, etc. No jewelry please.
  • Follow your doctor’s prep instructions.
Some exams require you not eat or drink right before your procedure, whereas other exams require you to drink 32 oz. of water before your procedure. Be sure that you have a clear understanding of what is expected of you so you do not jeopardize your own results.
  • Arrive 15-30 minutes before your appointment time.
To ensure we can accommodate as many patients as possible, we ask that you arrive early so you have adequate time to complete your necessary paperwork and prepare for your exam.
