AtlantiCare Lifeline
Lifeline allows individuals to stay connected to the support of their designated responders and/or emergency services. The individual served is able to directly contact trained Lifeline staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by pressing a button.
A Lifeline Monitor assesses the individual’s needs, quickly calls the appropriate support and stays in communication with the individual until the problem is resolved. Over 2,000 healthcare providers offer Lifeline across North America, including hospitals, agencies on aging, home healthcare providers, and nursing homes. These healthcare providers use Lifeline as a critical safety net for their patients residing at home.
Clinically, Lifeline can be added to care plans of elderly or disabled patients. This trend is in response to a healthcare climate that is demanding more cost-effective care and increased patient satisfaction. The quick response offered by Lifeline has shown to reduce the number of days a patient spends in a hospital or nursing home as a result of an accident or fall.
