While in the Stanley M. Grossman Children's Center at ARMC, your child's care is coordinated by pediatricians who are based in the hospital as part of the AtlantiCare/duPont Children's Program, a partnership between AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center and the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington.
These pediatricians are known as "hospitalists" because their responsibility is to assist in the care of pediatric patients only in the hospital setting: in the pediatric unit, in the emergency department, in the delivery room, or any area of the hospital where they may be needed. All of our hospitalists are Board-certified.
Primary pediatricians request the assistance of the hospitalists because they are readily available in the hospital for examinations, interpretation of test results, consultations with other healthcare providers, and for coordination of the discharge process.
The hospitalists are always available to answer questions about the condition or treatment of your child.
