You don’t have to go far to find advanced heart care, it’s right here at the Heart Institute at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center -- home to the region’s only cardiac surgery program. Our clinical outcomes are excellent, rivaling leading heart centers; our patient satisfaction rate exceeds 98 percent.
The Heart Institute offers nearly every surgical and technological treatment for heart disease available today. And because we are the area’s sole provider of emergency catheterization services for patients experiencing heart attacks, we are New Jersey’s first and only state-designated Chest Pain Center. Our New York University-affiliated cardiothoracic surgeons, as well as our physician’s assistants and specially trained cardiac nurses, provide outstanding and compassionate care -- close to home.

The Heart Institute’s surgical team provides patients with extraordinary care, with a personal touch. We have performed more than 1000 cardiothoracic procedures at the Heart Institute since our program began in July of 2001. Our surgical expertise includes minimally invasive endoscopic vein harvesting, off-pump coronary bypass (OPCAB or “beating heart” bypass), reoperative bypass, and valve repair and replacement.

The Heart Institute has the latest tools and technology to help diagnose and treat heart disease. From non-invasive diagnostic exams such as Volume Computed Tomography (VCT) to our well-equipped electrophysiology lab and operating rooms, ARMC’s advanced and effective technological resources ensure that you get the best possible care.
The Heart Institute at ARMC is affiliated with New York University Medical Center’s prestigious cardiac surgery program. In 2003, NYU Medical Center was named the best cardiac care hospital in the country by Modern Maturity magazine. World-renowned NYU cardiothoracic surgeons Stephen Colvin, MD, and Eugene Grossi, MD, pioneers in minimally invasive cardiac surgery, helped design ARMC’s cardiac surgery program, hand-selected our surgeons and trained our cardiac healthcare staff. They continue to be an integral part of ARMC’s cardiac program.
