The Heart Institute at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center has earned national and statewide recognition for the high-quality care we provide and our long-term success rates in treating heart disease.
Our success in performing heart bypass surgery is the highest among hospitals in southern New Jersey, according to the most recent New Jersey Health Care Quality Assessment report for cardiac surgery. According to that report, AtlantiCare’s risk-adjusted mortality rate for coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) was 0.74 percent, versus the overall state mortality rate of 1.47 percent. Risk adjusted mortality takes into consideration
the patient’s age, overall health status, pre-existing health conditions, and other factors in determining the performance of a hospital’s bypass surgery program.
