Mainland Campus Transformation Capital Campaign

AtlantiCare has initiated a transformation of the Mainland Campus that will include a 35,000-square-foot expansion and significant renovations to the existing facility. Here are some highlights of the project:

Addition and New Main Entrance

A two-and-a-half story addition at Mainland’s current front entrance will include a new reception area, lobby, registration center, gift shop, coffee bar, same-day surgery suite with 10 private patient bays and a dedicated elevator, a post anesthesia care unit (PACU) with 22 private rooms, a hybrid operating room and two new cardiothoracic operating rooms.

Many areas of the existing facility will be renovated, redesigned, relocated, modernized and/or expanded, including the cafeteria and kitchen, existing registration area, sterile processing department, cardiac surgery offices, physician lounge, psychiatric inpatient unit, existing operating rooms, PACU, staff locker rooms and lounges, interior entrance for the Joint Institute, waiting area and support offices for operating rooms, intensive care unit and cardiovascular care unit.

Both the main visitor parking lot and the Center for Childbirth parking lot will be expanded and reconfigured to make parking more convenient for patients and guests.

The cost of the Mainland Transformation Project is approximately $62.5 million. AtlantiCare
is seeking at least $5.5 million of this in community support to help us continue to offer the superior healthcare services our community needs and deserves. We invite individuals, foundations and corporations to join us as partners in providing this exciting new level of clinical capability. Together we can build a healthier community today, tomorrow and well into the future.

We are pleased to announce that the Rothman Institute has generously pledged $3 million to the Mainland Campus Transformation Campaign! This remarkable demonstration of support will be recognized with the naming of the new two-story tower as The Rothman Institute Pavilion.

Throughout AtlantiCare’s 115-year history, our growth, transformation and success have stemmed from two primary factors. First, from our very beginnings, AtlantiCare has been committed to identifying and meeting our community’s healthcare needs. Second, our community has generously supported us through utilization of our services, donations, planned gifts, event attendance and word-of-mouth endorsement of the quality of our care and service. AtlantiCare’s commitment to those we serve remains at the forefront as we continue to transform, grow and prepare for the future. And as healthcare becomes more efficient and streamlined, philanthropy and the role of benefactors will become more important than ever to AtlantiCare’s success and growth.

The AtlantiCare Foundation raises money to support the programs and services of AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center and develops relationships with individuals and organizations in the community who share our vision of building healthier communities. We like to say we do “friendraising” in addition to “fundraising.”
