AtlantiCare Foundation

With this charge at the core of its work, AtlantiCare maintains relationships and participates in collaborative efforts to tackle the health issues and disparities that affect our local service area. Examples of successes that have resulted from the advocacy efforts of the AtlantiCare Foundation include:

• Working with area houses of worship to raise awareness and empower congregants to reduce health disparities and better manage chronic diseases such as diabetes and obesity;
• Increased childhood immunization rates from 53% to 75% among Atlantic County children through collaborative work with the Atlantic County Health Department and the Atlantic County United Way’s Success by Six program;
• The removal of more than 3,000 guns from the city’s streets through partnerships with local churches and gun buy-back programs sponsored by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office with funding from local casinos;
• Development of the region’s only cardiac surgery program;
• Raising more than $15 million to benefit AtlantiCare’s programs and services through fifty years of the annual Century Club Gala and more than $2 million through 20 years of the AtlantiCare Invitational Thomas L. Glenn, Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament.
