AtlantiCare welcomes first baby of 2018


For Immediate Release: January 1, 2018

A boy was the first baby born in 2018 at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland Campus, a member of Geisinger. Taheem Williams was born at 2:15 a.m. January 1 at the Roger B. Hansen Center for Childbirth at the hospital’s Mainland Campus in Pomona. He weighed 5 pounds, 10 ounces, and was 19 inches long.

Parents are Tiosha Goddard and Kaleem Williams of Atlantic City. Taheem has a three-year-old brother. He shares his New Year birthday with a cousin.

Rose Scaffidi, DrNP, CNM, certified nurse midwife, AtlantiCare Physician Group OB/GYN delivered the baby. Blair Bergen, M.D., FAOG, FACS, obstetrician/gynecologist, AtlantiCare Physician Group OB/GYN, and chairman, ARMC Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, was attending

Kathy Fowler, RN, ARMC Maternal Newborn nurse; Marie Germar, ARMC Obsetrtics nurse; and Stephanie Grayson, M.D, neonatologist, CHOP Newborn & Pediatric Care at AtlantiCare; presented  Goddard and her newborn with a First Baby of 2018 gift basket on behalf of the ARMC Mainland Campus Auxiliary.

Grayson was also a New Year’s Day baby. She and her twin brother were born on the holiday, as was their mother.
