For Immediate Release:  March 21, 2018

AtlantiCare Winter Storm Update

AtlantiCare implemented its 96-hour emergency preparedness plan Tuesday, March 20, 2018 to ensure appropriate staffing and supplies to care for the community through potential weather events this week.

It also activated the weather alert web page of AtlantiCare’s website. Should there be weather-related closures or late openings of programs or services in the five-county area AtlantiCare serves, AtlantiCare will post them to this page.

AtlantiCare’s plan includes:

  • Working with providers, staff, patients and families to discharge patients who are ready to be released early in the day.
  • Collaborating with our suppliers and other vendors to ensure we have adequate supplies.
  • Seeing scheduled HomeCare and Hospice patients early in the day; ensuring those patients have an emergency plan and contacts; and remaining available for all Hospice and HomeCare patients in emergency situations.
  • Working with patients who want to reschedule appointments.
  • Continuing to evaluate how the weather might impact the five-county area it serves.
