Medical insurance is available to full-time employees and part-time employees budgeted to work at least 24 hours per week. Costs are shared, on a pre-tax basis, for AtlantiCare Engaged plan Powered by Geisinger, AtlantiCare Engaged Plan Powered by Horizon and AtlantiCare Preferred Provider (PPO). If you waive medical benefits, $45 per pay*, this amount will be deposited into a Healthcare Reimbursement Account (HRA). AtlantiCare employees are eligible for medical insurance on the first day of the month following the date of hire. (Example: if you were hired on November 25th, you would be eligible for medical insurance on December 1).
AtlantiCare offers you the choice of two dental plans, Basic or Plus. The Basic plan provides comprehensive preventive coverage for you and your family. You do have the option to buy up to the Plus plan which, in addition to your preventive care, provides some orthodontia coverage for children up to age 19. AtlantiCare employees are eligible for dental coverage on the first day of the month following the date of hire.
AtlantiCare's prescription plan co-pays are as follows: $10 co-pay for generic drugs, $20 for preferred drugs, and $50 for non-preferred drugs. The medical and prescription plan are bundled together. AtlantiCare employees are eligible for the prescription plan on the first day of the month following the date of hire.
AtlantiCare provides life insurance to its full time employees at no cost. Coverage is equal to 1 ½ times your annual salary. You may purchase up to an additional 3 times your annual salary. Full time AtlantiCare employees are covered on the first day of the month following the date of hire.
Long Term Disability
Available to fulltime employees after one year of employment, long term disability protects you in the event that you become physically or mentally unable to work. The benefit is equal to 50% of your monthly salary to a maximum monthly benefit of $2,500. You can also purchase, on a pre-tax basis, a plan that pays 66 2/3% of your salary up to $5,000 monthly.
Retirement Savings Plans
AtlantiCare is pleased to offer you the opportunity to save for retirement through our 403(b) Retirement Plan, a defined contribution plan. This plan is administered by MetLife. Participation in this plan provides you with a great way to either start or continue saving for retirement. Your contributions are automatically deducted from your paycheck on a tax deferred basis thereby reducing your annual taxable income. You don’t have to pay taxes on your account until you take money out of your plan. No matter what type of investor you are, you have the ability to choose from a wide variety of funding options. If you are employed by a for-profit AtlantiCare business, you are eligible to participate in a 401(k) Savings Plan which mirrors the 403(b) plan design provisions.
MetLife Employer matching 403(b) Retirement Plan/401(k) Savings Plan:
There will be a 2% auto enrollment in the AtlantiCare 403(b)/401(k) Plan unless you opt-out within the first 60 days of employment. Notification of this 2% auto enrollment, plan information and your “PIN” will be mailed to your home. Upon receipt of this information, you can log onto www.mlr.metlife.com and opt-out or increase your deferral amount. You can also contact MetLife Customer Services at 1-800-543-2520.
AtlantiCare will match 25% of the first 4% of your salary that you defer. This match is subject to the maximum annual compensation limits determined by the IRS. Upon completion of three years of service in which you work 500 hours, you will be fully vested in this match. This means that if you leave employment with AtlantiCare after three years, you are eligible to take both the match money and your contributions. The money that you contribute is always fully vested. Once you complete 15 years or more years of service, AtlantiCare will increase this match to 50% of your contribution up to the first 4% of your salary that you defer. For 2012, you are able to defer up to $17,000 annually and if you are age 50 or older, you are eligible for an additional $5,500 catch-up contribution for a total annual maximum of $22,500.
AtlantiCare also provides employees annually with a non-elective fully vested contribution equal to 3% of eligible compensation to your 403(b) or 401(k) plan. This contribution is subject to the maximum annual compensation limits determined by the IRS. To receive this contribution, you must be on payroll the last day of the plan year and have worked 1000 hours in that year.
529 College Savings Plan
The 529 plan enables you to make post-tax contributions to Scholars Choice College Savings program. This program helps families save and pay for college expenses with a 529 plan that is easy to set up, flexible and available nationwide. The major advantages are that your account balances grow free from federal income taxes and all withdrawals used for qualified higher education expenses are federal income tax-free. Contributions can be made via payroll deduction. Available to employees budgeted to work at least 24 hours per week.
Flexible Savings Account (FSA)
AtlantiCare makes it possible for you to receive a tax break by allowing you to participate in a Health Care and/or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account Plan. Your FSA contributions are made each pay period before federal, state and FICA taxes are taken out. As you incur expenses you will receive tax-free reimbursement from the dollars you saved. Additionally, a Transit Reimbursement Plan is available.
Regular, full-time employees receive 80 hours (two weeks) of paid vacation per year. Vacation accrual increases with seniority. Paid vacations are based on years of employment according to the following schedule:
After 1 Year - 2 Weeks
After 8 Years - 3 Weeks
After 15 Years - 4 Weeks
After 25 Years - 5 Weeks
Full-time employees, are entitled to 11 days (13 if hired prior to 01/01/2012) of holiday/personal time per year. Part-time employees are eligible for only 50% of the full-time benefit
Full-time employees receive 40 hours of sick leave per year. Sick leave is cumulative to 320 hours for employees who have been with AtlantiCare less than 15 years of service. At 15 years, you can accumulate up to 360 hours. At 20 years of service, you can accumulate 400 hours.
AtlantiCare employees receive up to 40 hours for a death in the immediate family (father, mother, brother, sister, spouse, children, grandparents). Part-time employees receive pro-rated time.
Employee Assistance Program
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) has been designed to help if you find that personal problems are interfering with your ability to function at work. The program offers confidential counseling and referral to professional resources for problems with alcohol, drugs, marital difficulties, family crises, financial or legal problems or emotional or other concerns. The AtlantiCare LifeCenter is a fitness center dedicated to helping you improve your quality of life through exercise and healthy living.
