9 a.m. – Students to leave auditorium to see landing of MidAtlantic MedEvac for demonstration of how an air transport of a heart attack patient would take place.* *

*Training will not reflect what actual timeline for response and treatment would be.

* * The primary method of transportation of a STEMI patient is by local emergency medical technician ambulance with paramedics providing advanced care during transport. An alternative method of transport for a person experiencing a STEMI – which the presentation will demonstrate - is by air. A number of factors, including, but not limited to patient symptoms, distance from scene to hospital, distance from responding vehicle to scene, and weather conditions factor into transport method.
