AtlantiCare, a member of Geisinger Health System, celebrated the launch of its newest urgent care center February 10 with a grand opening reception and a ribbon cutting. AtlantiCare Urgent Care Center Clementon, at 1310 Blackwood Clementon Road, Clementon, NJ, opened February 8.
During the event, center staff gave tours of the 3,600-square-foot facility, which includes a reception area with a children’s waiting section and coffee bar. Six patient examination rooms include eye, ear, pediatric, suture, orthopaedic and OB/GYN rooms, which also serve as general examination rooms. In addition, the facility has an X-ray suite and a centralized nursing station.
“Whether you have an ear ache, sore throat or fever and your primary care provider’s office is closed or you can’t get in that day; or you don’t know whether your daughter sprained her ankle sliding into second base but you do know you have your son’s band concert in two hours, we can diagnose and treat you timely,” said John Ruskey, DO, medical director, AtlantiCare Urgent Care.
“AtlantiCare has been a leader in the state in opening urgent care centers,” said Jatin Motiwal, “We do so as we work to improve access to care. We believe our Urgent Care Team plays a tremendous role in helping us build healthy communities. On behalf of AtlantiCare Urgent Care, and everyone at AtlantiCare, I’d like to thank all those who entrust us with their care. It is our privilege to care for you.”
AtlantiCare Urgent Care Center Clementon serves patients seven days a week, including holidays, from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. for diagnosis and treatment of minor illnesses and injuries. Staff includes board-certified physicians, registered nurses, X-ray technologists and customer service associates. No appointment is necessary, but appointments can be booked online by visiting www.atlanticaredoctors.org or www.atlanticaredoctors.com; or using the free ZocDoc app for iPhone and Android, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
“Beyond treating fracture or diagnosing minor illness, the AtlantiCare Urgent Care Team is working with patients to make sure they have a primary care provider,” said Steve Blumberg, senior vice president and executive director, AtlantiCare Health Solutions. “It is linking them with specialists when they need them. Through Urgent Care we are impacting the broader issues that impact wellness.”
AtlantiCare opened its flagship Urgent Care Center in Egg Harbor Township in 2002. The Clementon site, AtlantiCare’s tenth, is its third in Camden County.
