AtlantiCare to recognize
NJ Governor Chris Christie and Mary Pat Christie;
Ensign John R. Elliott HERO Campaign for Designated Drivers®; and John Becher, DO
with Edward R. Knight Award
AtlantiCare’s 54th Annual Century Club Gala May 4 at Borgata
AtlantiCare will recognize New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and First Lady Mary Pat Christie; the Ensign John R. Elliott HERO Campaign for Designated Drivers®; and John W. Becher, DO, of Margate, with the Edward R. Knight Award during its 54th Annual Century Club Gala Saturday, May 4, from 6:30 p.m. to midnight at Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa, Atlantic City.
AtlantiCare established the Edward R. Knight Award in 1998 to honor those who contribute to building a healthier community. It is named for the chairman emeritus of ARMC, Edward R. Knight, PhD, who has devoted more than 50 years of service to improving healthcare for those who live and work in southeastern New Jersey.
AtlantiCare will recognize the Christies with the Edward R. Knight Special Award, who will accept the award on video, for their leadership and extraordinary efforts in support of the southern New Jersey Region and the state before, during and after Super Storm Sandy and through the renaissance of Atlantic City; the Ensign John R. Elliott HERO Campaign for Designated Drivers® with the Edward R. Knight Community Award for helping to save lives in accordance with Knight’s vision for creating a healthier community and a better place to live; and John Becher, DO, of Margate, who retired as chairman of Emergency Services at ARMC in 2012, with the Edward R. Knight Physician Award for his service and considerable contributions to AtlantiCare and the emergency medicine community.
The theme of the black tie-optional event is State of the Art – An Evening Transformed.
Gala chairpersons are Ciro Randazzo, MD, MPH, neurovascular surgeon, AtlantiCare Neurosciences Institute and assistant professor of Neurological Surgery, Department of Neurological Surgery, Thomas Jefferson University, and his wife Lana, of Linwood, and Thomas and Peggy Sykes, of Atlantic City.
Entertainment will be by the Steve Delisi Band.
