ARMC Mainland Auxiliary to hold sixth annual Pike-a-thon

Event proceeds to benefit Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at hospital's Center for Childbirth

Approximately 125 riders are expected to participate in the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland Auxiliary's sixth annual Pike-a-thon Sunday, August 17. Proceeds will benefit the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Roger B. Hansen Center for Childbirth at ARMC's Mainland Campus, Pomona, New Jersey.

The motorcycle run through the Pine Barrens will start at Atlantic County Harley Davidson, 219 E. White Horse Pike, Galloway, NJ, make a several stops, including a stop at the Lower Bank Tavern, 1509 County Road 542, Lower Bank, NJ, and end at the Watering Hole Cafe, 6494 Weymouth Road, Mays Landing, NJ. Participants' donations cover a buffet-style lunch at the Watering Hole. Lunch will also feature prizes, giveaways, and live music.

The event will take place rain or shine. Registration is $20 for riders and $10 for passengers and begins at 10 a.m. at Atlantic County Harley-Davidson; last rider will leave by 11:30 a.m. Walk-ins are $15 and are welcome for lunch at the Watering Hole Café.

About Mainland Auxiliary

ARMC's Mainland Auxiliary raises funds for patient services throughout ARMC including the Roger B. Hansen Center for Childbirth, the Heart Institute, and the Progressive Cardiac Care and Acute Care for the Elderly units. Among donations made to ARMC Mainland campus are the Joie de Vivre statue, which stands at the entrance to the Roger B. Hansen Center for Childbirth; medical equipment and supplies; clothing; and teddy bears for distribution to patients with invasive breast cancer. Founded in 1974, the Auxiliary has raised more than $2 million to benefit patient services at ARMC Mainland, and has recently pledged $500,000.
