Following Instructions and Medical Recommendations

It's important to follow the recommendations of your patient care team. Our staff will review your care plan with you regularly. Please let your nurse know if you do not understand something.

It is your decision to follow the treatment plan your care team recommends. It’s the best way for the plan to work. However, if you choose not to follow the plan, your health could suffer and your hospital stay might be longer.

• If you do not understand something about your care plan or illness, please ask. Your nurse, physician and other healthcare providers will explain.

• If you have questions or concerns, please let us know. Our primary concern is that you understand your treatment plan so you can get better quickly.

• Please take time to learn about your diagnosis, medical tests, treatment plan and medications. You might also ask a trusted family member or friend to be your advocate to help you understand your care.
