Dr. Mark A. Merlin
Dr Mark Merlin is presently the Emergency Medical Services and Critical Care Transport Medical Director at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He is the Chair of the New Jersey MICU Advisory Board for the Department of Health and Senior Services, providing oversight and direction of all paramedic units in New Jersey.

Dr Merlin received training in Internal Medical and Emergency Medicine and is currently an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He is the recipient of the 2007-2008 physician of the year by the NJ Department of Health and Office of Emergency Medical Services.

Dr Merlin is involved in multiple research and grant projects and is has authored multiple chapters in the current Prehospital care textbook Prior to arriving at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School he was named the Attending of the year for the Emergency Departments at Morristown Memorial Hospital and Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. He has been involved in pre-hospital care for over 20 years and currently is the medical director of the NJ EMS/Disaster Medicine Fellowship and NJ Physician Response Program.
