The Center for Childbirth offers a variety of classes to help you and your family prepare for your new arrival. Click on a link below to learn more. Six-week Prepared Childbirth course Saturday One-day Prepared Childbirth course Breastfeeding Class New Baby Day Camp for big brothers and big sisters
Six-Week Prepared Childbirth Course Overview This course will help prepare you for the birth of your baby. We recommend this course be taken during months seven and eight of your pregnancy.
Week1: Introduction to Prepared Childbirth • 3rd Trimester Signs And Symptoms • Slide Tour Of Maternity Unit • 3rd Trimester Nutrition • When To Call Your Doctor • Exercise – Limbering And Relaxation	Week 2: Labor • Physiology Of Labor • Signs Of Labor • Hospital Admission And Procedures • Breathing Techniques • Fetal Monitoring • Pain Relief, Medicated And Non-Medicated
Week 3: Delivery • Pushing Technique • Baby’s Adjustment To First Hours Of Life	Week 4: Cesarean Delivery • Indications • Procedure • Anesthesia • Recovery • Hospital Tour
Week 5: Postpartum • Physiological Changes • Hormonal Changes • Contraception	Week 6: Newborn Night Invite your baby’s grandparents to attend this session, so everyone can learn the best ways to care for your new baby

Saturday One-Day Prepared Childbirth Class
	This one-day “crash course” is offered once a month from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For those couples unable to commit to one night a week, this is the class for you.
