When it comes to the ‘Big Game,’ let’s be honest, the snacks are just as important as the game. Whether you’re tuning in to root for your team, to watch the commercials, enjoy the halftime show or just spending time with friends and family, the food spread often steals the spotlight.

But here’s the thing, we’re coming off a season of holiday indulgence and many of us have set fresh goals to eat a little healthier in the new year. Then along comes Big Game Sunday with its usual heavy lineup of greasy wings, salty chips, cheesy dips and sugary drinks. Delicious? Absolutely. But all that rich food can leave you feeling more sluggish than satisfied.

The good news? Game day doesn’t have to mean giving up on your new year resolution healthy habits. With a few simple swaps, you can keep all the flavor and fun, without the post-snack regrets. Whether you're hosting a crowd or keeping things low-key at home, these 10 better-for-you snack ideas are tasty, easy to make and won’t throw your goals off course.

According to Jodi Tangradi, Fitness Supervisor for AtlantiCare’s LifeCenter, “when making healthy choices, you won’t eat as many calories and still satisfy cravings while sticking to your new year goals. Enjoy the party, eat or drink what you want, but always in moderation. And be sure to get in some physical activity to balance out what you will consume and keep you right on track!”

Here are some of Jodi’s recommended swaps for game day:
