The family medicine residency clinic is part of the AtlantiCare FQHC located in the Medical Arts Pavilion. We are located across the street from the city campus hospital in Atlantic City, where the majority of inpatient rotations take place. Residents rotate at the mainland campus in Pomona, NJ for their OB, newborn, and ICU rotations in their intern year.
Graduate medical education is also located in the Medical Arts Pavilion which houses our classroom used for weekly conferences and dedicated resident workspace.
Family medicine residents are encouraged to participate in AtlantiCare's annual Research Day which is open submission from all students, residents, and fellows in our healthcare system. The AtlantiCare library is housed at the city campus hospital and is staffed by a full-time librarian who can help us access a broad variety of resources available through our affiliation with Drexel University College of Medicine.
Additionally, our PGY-2 residents participate in a state-wide learning collaborative which allows them to work together on a quality improvement project and present at the annual NJAFP conference in the spring.
AtlantiCare is a clinical site for Drexel University College of Medicine. Our residents work with 3rd and 4th year students from DUCOM and other nearby medical schools in the family medicine office, inpatient service, and their other rotations.
The majority of our graduates go into outpatient primary care after graduation, some staying here at AtlantiCare. We have had some residents go into fellowships such as Sports Medicine and Addiction Medicine. The others have taken positions as hospitalists.
