We do not require a minimum score. Competitive candidates should have a solid academic background. We view your application in its entirety.

No. While Step 2 and Comlex 2 are not required for the interview process, it is required to have completion before your medical school graduation.

Yes, International graduates should have three months U.S. clinical experience. This does not include observerships, or shadowing. International medical graduates should have graduated medical school within the past three years. The date of graduation is not flexible.

Interviews fill up quickly and it’s highly recommended that you respond within 24 hours to secure your preferred interview date. You will be able to schedule your own interview via the Thalamus platform. Interviews are scheduled on a first response basis. We will be utilizing the Thalamus scheduling system this year.

We pay for the Rosh Review question bank to help prepare you for the exam and incorporate the question bank into our weekly didactics.

Yes, we provide five (5) days of coverage (with no time-off penalty) per academic year to a nationally recognize conference or time-off to study and take the USMLE step 3 or COMLEX part 3.

AtlantiCare provides an annual stipend of $2,000 for a presentation if you are the first/lead author or primary speaker of an accepted work submitted to a regional or national conference.

We provide all incoming residents with the DSM-5TR and access to paid journals via our city campus library.

Psychiatry residents have twenty (20) work days per academic year, five (5) New Jersey sick days, five (5) conference days, six (6) national holidays and two (2) wellness days.

In accordance with the American Medical Association, Organization of Program Director Associations, the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, and the National Resident Matching Program AtlantiCare will be conducting virtual interviews again this year. We utilize the Zoom platform.

Participation in the supplemental ERAS application is optional. The supplemental ERAS application is designed to help students share more information about themselves and assist our program in finding applicants that fit our programs' setting and mission. There is no cost to applicants and participation is optional.

The supplemental ERAS application includes:

  • geographic preferences (by region and by urban or rural setting);
  • information about your most meaningful experiences and other impactful life events, if applicable; and
  • program signals

We are thrilled you have applied to our program! Our committee reviews every application. Interviews are granted by invitation only. If you have not heard from us it is because we have received more applications than the number of available interviews. Given the number of excellent candidates we are limited in the number of interviews we can offer.
