Gynecological Cancer

All women are at risk of gynecological cancers, and the risk increases as you get older. The good news is that women’s reproductive cancers can usually be detected during annual wellness checks by a gynecologist.

Gynecological cancers are cancers that develop in the female reproductive system, including the cervix, ovaries, uterus, vagina and vulva. Each type is different, with its own set of risk factors, symptoms and treatments but they all require early detection and specialized care.

At AtlantiCare Cancer Care Institute, patients with gynecological cancers are cared for by a multidisciplinary team that may include gynecologic oncologists, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, nurse navigators, dietitians and social workers. Through our affiliation with the Cleveland Clinic Cancer Institute, patients also have access to advanced therapies, minimally invasive surgery, genetic counseling and clinical trials.
