EMS Academy
EMS Academy is a comprehensive training program designed to fully prepare aspiring EMTs to challenge the National Registry EMT exam and obtain New Jersey EMT licensure. This five month (21 weeks) course provides students with the latest evidence-based EMS training through classroom instruction, engaging case studies, assessments, field experiences and more. Students receive this education at no cost and are guaranteed an offer of employment for one year with AtlantiCare EMS upon successful completion.

Emergency Medical Technician Program
General Course Information
The AtlantiCare EMS Academy is dedicated to providing students with the most up-to-date, evidence-based training in emergency medical services. Through a balance of in-depth classroom instruction, engaging case studies and challenging assessments, students will develop strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Hands-on psychomotor training ensures students become proficient in essential EMT skills, while high-fidelity simulations prepare them for real-world scenarios. In addition to classroom learning, students will participate in clinical rotations and field experiences, including:
- Ride-alongs with Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) units
- Observation in the Emergency Unit, Trauma Unit, Interventional Cath Lab, Labor and Delivery Unit, Air Medical Services, Neurology Unit, Specialty Care Transportation Units and Medical Communications Center
Program Commitment
Upon completion, graduates will be fully prepared to challenge the National Registry EMT exam and obtain EMT licensure in New Jersey. Students receive this comprehensive education at no cost, with the commitment of employment for one year with AtlantiCare EMS upon successful completion.
