Pride Month

June is Pride Month, a time to celebrate LGBTQIA+ history, culture and community. At AtlantiCare, we are committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care to every person we serve. Through specialized services, support programs and employee-led initiatives, we strive to create welcoming environments where patients, team members and community members feel respected, supported and valued.

AtlantiCare Physician Group Primary & LGBTQ+ Care

In December 2023, AtlantiCare opened the region’s first primary and specialized care practice dedicated to serving the LGBTQIA+ community. Led by Medical Director B.J. Howard, MD, AtlantiCare Physician Group Primary & LGBTQ+ Care’s mission is to provide culturally competent, identity-affirming and judgment-free care in an environment where patients feel safe and respected. The practice aims to reduce health disparities among marginalized and underserved communities and has provided gender-affirming care, hormone therapy, PrEP, PEP, HIV management, preventive care, mental health services and more to nearly 1,000 patients since opening.

LGBTQIA+ Support Group

Led by the APG Primary & LGBTQ+ Care team, AtlantiCare’s LGBTQIA+ Support Group serves as a safe and welcoming space for adults who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning. Participants can connect with others, share experiences and learn about available resources and services. The LGBTQIA+ Support Group currently meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. onsite at the APG Primary & LGBTQ+ Care offices, located at 3830 Atlantic Avenue, Atlantic City, NJ. PRIDE Employee Resource Group

The PRIDE (Promoting Respect, Individuality, Diversity and Equality) ERG supports AtlantiCare's commitment to providing respectful and inclusive healthcare services to members of the LGBTQIA+ community while fostering collaboration, mentorship and professional growth among team members.

Everyone deserves access to care that is compassionate, respectful and centered on their individual needs. At AtlantiCare, we are committed to helping people feel supported throughout their health journey and respected for who they are.
