Pharmacy Residency Program

Welcome to AtlantiCare’s Pharmacy Residency Program

The post-graduate year one (PGY-1) Pharmacy Residency Program at AtlantiCare is a full-time, temporary appointment of 1 year. The program is accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). Residency goals, objectives, and evaluation processes are consistent with the accreditation standards set forth by ASHP.

The experience is dedicated to supporting the development of well-rounded and capable clinical pharmacists. We accomplish this through the delivery of an array of comprehensive services which promotes the profession of pharmacy and patient safety through professionalism, compassion, respect, teamwork and optimal patient centric medication management. Exceptional quality is a core competence of our pharmacies, enabling valuable contributions in alignment with our corporate strategies of disease prevention and wellness.

PGY1 residency programs build upon Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and outcomes to develop pharmacist practitioners with knowledge, skills, and abilities as defined in the educational competency areas, goals, and objectives. Residents who successfully complete PGY1 residency programs will be skilled in diverse patient care, practice management, leadership, and education, and be prepared to provide patient care, seek board certification in pharmacotherapy (i.e., BCPS), and pursue advanced education and training opportunities including postgraduate year two (PGY2) residencies.
