Program Leadership Welcome

Welcome, and thank you for your interest in the ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center (ARMC). We’re proud of the training we provide and are committed to offering a high-quality, supportive experience for our three residents. Our goal is to create a well-rounded and flexible program where residents can grow clinically while working closely with interdisciplinary teams to prepare for whatever path they choose next.

Our program is led by pharmacy leadership that also serves as the Student Program Director and most recently as the Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) Committee Secretary. This helps ensure strong alignment across the residency, student education, and key medication-use decisions throughout the health system.

The Pharmacy Department spans the entire AtlantiCare system, including two inpatient campuses in Atlantic City and Pomona, as well as oncology satellite locations in Egg Harbor Township and Cape May Court House. We place a strong emphasis on transitions of care, supported by retail pharmacies located within the hospitals and pharmacist-managed outpatient clinics focused on anticoagulation, heart failure, and metabolic conditions.

Our outpatient footprint continues to grow, with locations in Atlantic City, Galloway, and Manahawkin. These sites support both employee health and patient care, and offer services such as e-prescribing, secure messaging, automated refills, Meds-to-Beds, MTM, and barcode-supported workflows.

Pharmacy team members are actively involved across the organization, participating in a variety of committees, including the Institutional Review Board, Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and its working subcommittees, as well as groups within medicine, cardiology, infectious disease, infection prevention, and critical care.

Our inpatient pharmacies operate around the clock and utilize advanced technology, including automated dispensing cabinets (Pyxis and Talyst), computerized order entry, and barcode medication administration. We’re also in the process of transitioning to a more decentralized model, with pharmacists embedded in areas like oncology and critical care, with plans to expand further.
